I was born in the Mainland and came to Hong Kong when I was 10 years old. As a child, my mother would take me to tutoring classes at our church where I grew up and found my religion. Contributing back to the church community as a young adult, I would often volunteer there and spend time with the children. It was then when I realized that I love interacting and playing with young ones. After completing secondary school, I decided to pursue my passion and study for a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
In the past, I have also worked as a Special Education Needs (SEN) tutor and a welfare assistant in a community centre where I would work closely with families. This experience encouraged me to further my studies in order to help me gain a better understanding and cater to the diverse needs of young children.
The training and knowledge I have gained from my studies and experiences have influenced my philosophy in play-based learning which I carry with me in my role at Fairchild Junior Academy. They helped shape me to become the person I am as well as laid the foundation of my ability to work with young children and their families.
